The Senior Manager Controlling for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the consolidation of the OPCO ensuring consistency and compliance with all Accounting and Control practices. You will also play a role in some global ad hoc projects as well as implementing process improvements.

This position is part of the Global Controlling Team located in Newcastle Upon Tyne and will be on-site at Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Global Controlling Team and report to the Snr Director Global FP&A and Global Controller responsible for all controlling activities of the OPCO. In this role you will have the opportunity to:

Oversees both internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of the OPCO including:

  • Coordination and approval of consolidated financial statements to US GAAP, including validation of all corporate adjustments alongside supporting documentation.

  • Internal financial reporting including internal results of operations, specified items, balance sheet and cash flow and applicable analysis, alongside tax reporting and coordination across global locations.

  • Establishes and updates financial reporting deadlines and managing the monthly financial consolidation process.

  • Driver of the annual internal balance sheet reviews, and rationalise the internal and external audit findings and steer the planning of corrective actions.

  • Ad hoc global projects

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Degree qualified in a Finance discipline

  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Track record of success and progression within the Finance function, especially in the areas of financial control, cost management, financial planning and forecasting, system & process improvement.

  • Excellent planning and organization skills, a structured and process-oriented individual.

  • High level of financial acumen coupled with a hands-on attitude.

Travel/Location of Travel, include approximate overnight stays per week.

  • Travel expectations within this role are minimal (<25%).

  • This role/team will be based at Newcastle upon Tyne.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experienced in working in an international environment.

  • Experience of working in a US company and/or matrix structured business would be beneficial.
