WestRock Company Quality Engineer in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom

The opportunity: Working within a fast-paced environment, the Quality Engineer will work within the Quality team to facilitate the analysis, design and implementation of process solutions to drive quality performance improvements

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Monitor daily department performance KPI\u2019s identifying areas for improvement

  • Calculates metrics and evaluate process and quality data to recommend improvement opportunities

  • Provides assistance with process troubleshooting and optimisation analysis

  • Ensure compliance with all documented quality systems in line with business requirements

  • Perform/conduct Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA), Measurement System Error Analysis (MSE), Design of Experiments (DOE), Validations to minimise potential risk during manufacturing activity

  • Provide statistical support during improvement activity is sampling plans, capability assessments and process development

  • Act as Voice of the Customer for allocated customers building up and maintaining detailed knowledge/documentation of customer critical to quality standards, manufacturing processes, managing the resolution of NCRs and previous issues

  • Conduct internal audits to support the business quality management systems

  • Manage multiple projects related to process improvements

  • Assisting in developing a long-term strategy for continuous improvement

  • Performs other job duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:

  • Must be willing to travel occasionally

  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Must have excellent communication, briefing and presentation skills

  • Demonstrable track record of achievement in Quality and/or Technical, ideally in a dynamic, fast paced manufacturing environment

  • Previous working experience using problem solving techniques

  • Desirable knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques

  • Full driving license

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programs
