$2,526 Gross Weekly Pay / 40 hours
NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift Requirement: 8 or 9hr shifts between the ranges of 630a-630p Central
Float Requirement: none
On Call/Call Back Requirement: none
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: none
Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license, BLS/ACLS
Minimum Experience REQUIRED: 3+ year of nursing experience. ICU/Med Surg skillsets transition well to this role. Sedation Anesthesia recovery experience preferred
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
Patient Population: Adult/geriatric.
Skillset: An example of what we are looking for from manager here is: Remote tele, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy are, PCA management. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates. PACU training, IV insertion, catheter insertion radiation therapy experience a plus
Unit Information: Combination of office-based nursing and prep/recovery from anesthesia
Unit Strengths: great department morale and environment. We have a high volume clinic but extremely teamwork focused staff. Our doctors welcome the opportunity to teach new RN/staff about radiation oncology specifically.

The Oncology Registered Nurse evaluates, plans, implements and documents nursing care for the oncology patient population. The Oncology Registered Nurse works in hospitals and outpatient care centers where patients receive cancer treatments. In hospital settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse assists with surgery prep, patient education and coordination of their cancer treatments. In outpatient care center settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse typically helps with treatments such as chemotherapy and infusions while monitoring patients’ vitals, side effects, and pain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides specialized oncology nursing care to patients in a hospital or clinic setting
Observes and assesses chemotherapy patients' conditions
Assures patient safety and stability; reports significant changes to supervisor or physician; records nursing notes on patient chart
Interviews and observes patients medical history and current condition; reviews patients’ records; takes vital signs and assesses current condition and pain level
Administers chemotherapy, blood products, IV fluids and medications
Validates chemotherapy doses for accuracy
Identifies patient needs and healthcare problems; develops goals, service delivery protocols, and nursing plan of care; evaluates patient progress and modifies care plans as needed
Records and reports all information within scope and per facility protocol
Performs assessment of patients; evaluates symptoms and determines essential care required
Prepares patients for physician’s examination, assists in examination and treatment of patient
Educates patients and families about cancer diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options
Instructs individual patients and family on follow-up care, toxicity and side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy
Assists in assessment of pain management
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Current RN license in state practicing
One (1) year of experience in oncology nursing preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
