*Responsibilities: *Empowering people with disabilities to live on their own and make choices on how they spend their time. DSPs provide direct care and support in homes, community spaces or adult day centers.
Depending on what setting you work in you could have a variety of responsibilities:
- Assisting with daily living activities, such as personal care, cooking, cleaning and transportation, and coaching people to complete these tasks independently.
- Teaching people self-advocacy.
- Opening up opportunities in the community by planning activities, brainstorming possibilities and providing transportation.
This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing quality care and support to people with disabilities. The ability to adapt to changing situations, problem-solve effectively, and maintain a positive attitude is essential.
