Depending on location, this position may involve direct work with students with autism, emotional and/or developmental disabilities which may include, but are not limited to, oppositional and aggressive behaviors; mood disorders; and potentially severe and unpredictable physical and/or verbal outbursts. Teachers are expected to:
Ability to work with a diverse population of students.
Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.
Collaborate with colleagues and provide resources to meet student learning needs.
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents.
Record and report student progress.

Job Qualifications
Candidate must have current NYS certification in Technology Education or be eligible for NYS Certification in Technology. Other certifications to be considered for this position: Ag, Business, FACS, Computer Science, and Technology.
Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels, including but not limited to:
Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments
Knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Promoting equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments
Position requires the successful completion of all elements of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training. W-FL BOCES provides Initial and refresher TCI Trainings.
