Key Responsibilities:

The Security team helps us uphold the standards required to run a safe and successful airline. This includes global aviation compliance, corporate investigations and field investigations, and teams that deal with the security of our facilities, aircraft and employees worldwide.

The purpose of this position is to supervise, audit, and ensure compliance for the Exclusive Area Agreement for Terminal C in EWR. This includes the employee checkpoint and two loading docks.

  • Monitor security vendor operations to include visual and written audits, briefings, staffing reviews, reporting and analysis, performance meetings, operational walks, etc.

  • Lead all aspects of the airline’s security profile in accordance with the EWR Exclusive Area Agreement (EAA)

  • Serve as the main point of security contact during the shift for both United and on behalf of the security vendor with government agencies

  • Cooperate and assist with Law Enforcement investigations

  • Provide testimony in civil and criminal proceedings as required

  • Assist operational security staff in analyzing and assessing risks to customers, employees, and assets

  • Conduct station assessments and EAA support to proactively identify security vulnerabilities for stations within the system

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Aviation/Airport Management or another related field

  • 3+ years of experience in airline/airport operations or security

  • Solid understanding of Airline business systems and processes required

  • Strong knowledge of Airline practices and operational procedures required

  • Strong knowledge United corporate policies required

  • Airport/Airline Operations experience required

  • Able to comprehend, interpret and effectively communicate government regulations

  • Proficiency in programming languages, software applications, data analysis tools or project management software including EXCEL functionality

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to demonstrate strong people, planning and organizational skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Aviation/Airline Security

  • GSC / AVSEC

  • 4+ years of experience in airline/airport operations or security

  • Solid understanding of U.S. and foreign Aviation Security Regulations preferred

  • Vendor Management experience preferred
