Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist V for the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics within New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Teaching Specialist V performs parasitology research activities. Performs work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • As directed, performs various research and technical operations relative to the ongoing investigatory activities of the laboratory, including but not limited to protein analysis, animal work, microscopy, parasite cultures, etc.
  • Participates in the evaluation of existing procedures suggesting revisions where necessary, and proposing new procedures where required.
  • Assists with training fellows, medical students and lab technicians in laboratory techniques as directed.
  • Responsible for submitting purchase recommendations to his/her supervisor.
  • Ensures that laboratory equipment is maintained in good working orders.
  • Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments.
