Qualifications:

Required:

  • Professional Registered Nurse

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Minimum (2) two years of experience in research

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines

  • Goal and outcome oriented

Preferred:

  • BSN

  • Minimum (2) two years of project or program management experience preferred

  • Clinical Reasearch

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement

  • BLS from the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift, 8:30a - 4:30p

  • Full-Time, 37.5 hours

  • Monday Friday - No weekends or holidays

Essential Functions:

Oversee day to day operations for CTU activities related to the ASH RC Sickle Cell Disease Clinical Trial Network and all clinical research projects. Leads Consortium-related Community Advisory Board activities ensure increased research awareness on Sickle Cell Disease.Confirms that source documents of study are documented in the patient s medical record, including all tests mandated by the trial. Ensuring that all tests required by protocol are done to protocol timeframes. Enter clinical data as part of GRNDaD research project and enter the ICF's into electronic databases. Appropriately screens patients for study participation e.g. reviews medical records, collaborates with medical & research staff. Maintains accurate and/or thorough documentation on all source documents and case report forms for each study patient, resolving all patient queries. Implements study protocols and ensures regulatory adherence throughout the course of the study. Ensures that informed consent is obtained by a physician on each patient prior to study initiation and that consent process if followed. Participate in investigator, coordinator, or study initiation meetings. Prepares and submits all study protocols, consent forms, and other required documents to the IRB. Attends Monthly CTN Clinical Research Coordinator Meeting with several other research sites to discuss implementation procedures at site and how to progress existing strategies. Works directly with a regulatory coordinator to ensure that all research paperwork is properly documented. Works with other sickle cell team members to ensure patients' clinical, and research needs are met.

Other Duties:

The Sickle Cell Research Nurse will oversee all sickle cell clinical research trials and research databases. The Sickle Cell Research Nurse is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day ASH RC Sickle Cell Disease related clinical research operations. This oversight capacity includes administrative, communication, and quality management activities across all parts of the CTU. The CTU Coordinator will act as a primary liaison between members of the Consortium PI, research staff, institution, CAB, ASH RC, and Sponsors as applicable for all activities related to participation in the Network and the ASH RC Data Hub.
