Medical Technologist Blood Bank - Full-Time Evening - Lab NBI - Newark, NJ Req #: 0000119526 Category: Laboratory and Medical Technologist Status: Full-Time Shift: Evening Facility: RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Services Department: Lab NBI Location:Newark Beth Israel Medical Ctr, 201 Lyons Avenue, Newark, NJ 07112-2027 RESPONSIBILITIES:- Performs and interprets routine diagnostic assays on blood and body fluids- Performs all duties related to the preparation, identification, and testing of specimens- Performs all related documentation tasks- Participates in evaluating, documenting, and implementing technical assays- Provides guidance to non-certified personnelQUALIFICATIONS:- Meets education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), CLIA and the New Jersey State Department of health and Senior Services (NJSDHSS) laws- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related field- ASCP or NCA certification preferredHOURS:- 4:00pm to 12:00amAdditional Information:First established in 1901, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is a 665-bed quaternary care, teaching hospital that provides comprehensive health care for the region.
