Position Summary:
The Center for Solar-Terrestrial Research (CSTR) of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a part-time research assistant position. The candidate will design, construct and test a deployable instrument power platform for use in an extreme condition.
Essential Functions:
Design and fabrication of ruggedized instrument shelter. Novel design or adoption of a power system for the shelter suitable for continuous operations in Antarctica.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
Background in physics and/or engineering. Experience in design and fabrication of mechanical/electrical systems.
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
