WebMD LLC Deputy Director in Newark, New Jersey
Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers. - Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital journalism or web production, preferably in a newsroom environment.
- Experience successfully managing teams of writers, editors and/or content developers.
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS)
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
- Experience with multimedia production and integration.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Work with the Executive Director, prioritize the daily news product across professional and consumer audiences.
- Oversee the daily content to ensure it includes an effective mix of explanatory, enterprise, news, and clinical summary content.
- Work with specialty editors to select clinical studies that can be submitted to an AI tool.
- Spearhead effective use of data analytics among editors to better inform content decisions; host regular meetings and lead discussions of content performance.
- Assist in editing news and feature content when necessary and provide feedback to editors with a goal of ensuring high-quality content.
- Work with social/marketing to promote content and build daily news promotion schedules on social platforms.
- Coordinate with writer/editor on FDA approval stories for consumer and professional audiences.
- Demonstrated strong news judgment
