As part of the Corporate Controllers Department, the External Financial Reporting Team is responsible for the controllership activities in support of the U.S. business units, Newark-based international entities and select international locations. The External Financial Reporting Team supports GAAP and Statutory reporting across multiple legal entities, including subsidiary and separate account financial statements, disclosures, analysis, various regulatory filing submissions, and internal and external audit support. The team partners with Business Unit Finance and Operations areas, Actuarial, as well as other corporate areas.

The Associate Manager position will support the Financial Reporting team with responsibility for various subsidiary financial statements, disclosures and regulatory filings. This position will provide the candidate exposure to the companys insurance businesses, specifically Retirement, Group Insurance and Long-Term Care products as well as STAT and GAAP SEC financial reporting requirements.
The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Preparation of various subsidiary financial statements and disclosures, legal entity financial statement analysis, while ensuring the control, timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements
Preparation and analysis and review of reporting data in support of disclosures for inclusion in PFI 10-K/Q and subsidiary financial statements
Partner with Business Unit Finance areas, Corporate GAAP and STAT areas and other various internal business partners on accounting and reporting matters
Support the implementation of new or updated accounting guidance and regulatory requirements
Continuously identify efficiencies and process improvements to drive effectiveness and consistency
Maintain internal control standards to ensure compliance with Enterprise Accounting Policies and Procedures
Support special projects, initiatives and ad-hoc report and analysis requests
Responsible for maintenance of standard operating procedures
Ability to work overtime during peak periods

What youll need:
Bachelors or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance
4 - 6 years of financial reporting and analysis experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and/or Statutory accounting principles and reporting preferred
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under challenging time frames
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills;interpersonal, collaborative and partnering skills
Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented while maintaining a big picture perspective
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all staff levels
Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Itd be a plus if you had:
Advanced degree or designation (MBA, CPA) or pursuit towards
Insurance and/or Investment experience a plus
Experience with Prudential Financial systems a plus (Oracle, Essbase, Supplementals & Workiva)
