What You'll Do:

  • Inspection Management :

  • Plan and direct inspection activities to align with company standards.

  • Outline and implement comprehensive training procedures for inspection operations, including drawings, prints, schematics, and quality assurance standards.

  • Operational Excellence :

  • Ensure smooth operation of the inspection unit by maintaining daily records and reports.

  • Prioritize schedules based on product introduction and manufacturing timelines to achieve minimal turnaround times.

  • Coordinate the disposition of rejected materials efficiently.

  • Strategic Recommendations :

  • Make informed recommendations for capital expenditures and manpower requirements for the inspection area.

  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation and optimal performance.

  • Problem-Solving and Analysis :

  • Work on issues requiring the analysis of relevant factors and data.

  • Follow established practices and procedures to analyze situations and exercise judgment within defined policies to determine appropriate actions.

  • Team Leadership :

  • Monitor daily operations of the inspection unit or sub-unit, ensuring goals and objectives are met.

  • Direct subordinates using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.

  • Administer company policies that directly affect subordinate employees, providing immediate supervision and acting as an advisor as needed.

  • Goal-Oriented Assignments :

  • Receive assignments in the form of objectives and goals, guiding the team to complete tasks efficiently.

  • Management will review work to measure the achievement of objectives.

  • Hands-On Involvement :

  • Be actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems, ensuring the inspection unit operates seamlessly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Full Knowledge of Functional Area : Requires comprehensive knowledge of the inspection function and responsibility area.

  • Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze situations and data, making informed decisions based on established practices and procedures.

  • Leadership and Supervision : Experience in providing immediate supervision and guidance to a unit or group of employees.

  • Effective Communication : Strong communication skills to direct subordinates and collaborate with other departments.

Education and Experience

  • Preferred Minimum Non-Technical Degree: AA/AS Degree, possibly BA/BS

  • 5+ Years' experience in FDA, Notified Body, ISO or other regulated manufacturing setting is beneficial.

  • Medical Device experience is highly preferred.

  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience.

Skills

  • Must be self-motivated with capability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven leadership behavior with demonstrated ability to attract, lead and develop talent.

  • Ability to efficiently prioritize and direct the work of others.

  • Ability to anticipate and resolve conflicts while leveraging unique team talents to enhance engagement.

  • Knowledge of QMS Systems and electronic documentation management systems.

  • Thorough understanding of Root Cause Methodologies, Risk Management, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizan, Kanban, Poke Yoke and visual factory ideology

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Problem solving

  • ASQ Certification is beneficial.

  • Lean or Six Sigma is beneficial.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $80,700 - $134,500 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
