Quality Systems Leader

The DuPont Electronics and Industrial site in Newark, DE has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Site Quality Systems Leader. The site is recognizing significant opportunities in improving integration and effectiveness of Quality Systems and looking for a change leader who can help drive this transformation.

This role will have responsibility for leading the site quality systems strategy and team. QS Leader will interface with functional and business leaders across the site to help set, teach and ensure that the Quality Systems and quality strategies necessary for the next phase of business success are understood and executed effectively. This position will report to the Site Leader, and will also take direction from the Business Quality Leaders at the Newark site.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of this role are to ensure the necessary activities related to executing and exercising the Quality Management System are completed. This includes maintaining and improving the quality systems in order to meet all expectations at the site and of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 (as necessary).

Expectations for this role include strong Quality Management System understanding, a strong understanding of the Semiconductor Customer expectations, strong people leadership skills including ability to manage a team and influence without direct command, strategic alignment skills and ability to smoothly interface with executive and working levels across the company and externally.

Strategic expectations include:

  • Consolidates input (performance, findings, internal and external feedback) on Quality Systems and uses it to develop and execute on an improvement strategy

  • Ensures site maintains ISO 9001 certification

  • Monitors and improves adherence to the quality systems supported by the group through internal auditing, tracking of compliance KPIs, and sharing results with site leadership

  • Identifies and champions continuous improvement initiatives through disciplined Six Sigma methodology

  • Collaborates with resources at sister site in Taiwan on aligning Quality Systems organization, strategy, and deliverables

  • Networks with other DuPont Quality Systems resources to share and adopt best practices

  • Manages a team of Quality Specialists and drives empowered and integrated work environment with clearly defined roles, goals, and expectations

  • Ensures strong ownership and back up strategy of Quality Management System (QMS) and tools:

  • Document management

  • Management Of Change /Change Review Board

  • Non-Conforming material process

  • Calibration

  • Internal and external auditing

  • RCI/CAPA processes

  • ISO/IATF Certifications

  • Customer spec reviews

  • Management Systems Review

  • Customer Visits and PCN and resulting action management

Minimal travel (<5%)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

  • 3-5 years in Quality or Manufacturing

  • 3-5 years in project leader or team leader role

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards. ISO auditor certification (can obtain in role) and DuPont ODMS knowledge preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Six Sigma methodology, GBPL preferred

Successful candidates will have the following competencies:

Proven project management skills – requires multiple projects to be managed with data-driven risk management of varying levels of complexity. This involves continually working prioritization and resourcing with the business and operations. Must be able to prioritize work, multi-task, and have excellent time management skills.

Continuous improvement mindset- is able to recognize opportunity for improvement, charter improvement projects, and oversee execution.

Excellent communication – ensure a good alignment between our business needs and priorities, manufacturing and other functions, and our customers and suppliers. Required to be clear, concise and articulate, as well as possess the ability to summarize complex cases into simple actionable plans.

Exceptional ability to build relationships – collaborate across different organizations (Business/Marketing, Product Quality, Product Development, Manufacturing, Customers or Suppliers) to deliver results. Must be able to negotiate and network with numerous teams
