New York University Postdoctoral Associate (Kota Katsumi) in New York

A postdoctoral associate position is available at the Center of Quantum Phenomena (CQP), Department of Physics, New York University with Professor Kota Katsumi. The Katsumi lab is a new CQP lab focusing on revealing and manipulating the properties of quantum materials using ultrafast time-resolved optical experiments. To this aim, we also develop new time-resolved spectroscopic technique in the terahertz to the visible light range.

The successful candidate should have experience with some of the following experimental techniques:

-Ultrafast time-resolved optical experiments

-Spectroscopy (Terahertz, Raman, FTIR, etc.)

-Cryogenic measurements

-Labview for measurement automation and data-taking

We expect the appointed candidate to conduct research, design and perform experiments, analyze data, write academic publications and proposals, give presentations at conferences, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students. Good communication, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of a second and a third year, subject to performance and continued funding.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 - $65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
