Schrödinger Crystal Structure Prediction Scientist in New York

We’re seeking a Crystal Structure Prediction Scientist to join us in our mission to discover and develop drugs that improve human health and materials that increase quality of life!

As a member of our Life Sciences Software team, you’ll work with cutting-edge, physics-based technologies in drug discovery and materials design. Your background in computational chemistry, solid state physics, quantum mechanics, and/or free energy calculations will make you a key contributor in our efforts to revolutionize the way therapeutics and materials are discovered.

Who will love this job:

  • A scientist with extensive training in solid state physics, quantum mechanics, and thermodynamics who has practical experience with small molecule crystal structure prediction

  • A skilled modeler who understands small molecule crystal structures and property calculations

  • A drug formulation expert with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A proficient Python and/or C++ programmer who’s worked in UNIX/Linux environments

What you’ll do:

  • Facilitate breakthroughs in computer-aided drug discovery and materials design by delivering novel methods with unprecedented levels of accuracy

  • Work with a team of scientists and engineers to develop novel methods to accurately predict small molecule crystal structures

  • Carefully design computational experiments and collect data to validate the methods and explore applications areas

What you should have:

  • PhD in computational chemistry, solid state physics, solid state property modeling, or related fields

  • Peer-reviewed publications on crystal structure prediction, solid state property modeling, computational chemistry, and/or materials modeling

  • Proficiency in Python or C++; Python is preferred

  • Experience in developing crystal structure prediction methods is highly desired

Estimated base salary range (NYC only): $120,000 - $190,000. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
