Morgan Stanley VP U.S. Banks First Line Risk Officer Centralized Metrics and Reporting in New York, New York

The US Banks- Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (“MSPBNA”) and Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. (“MSBNA”) provide cash management and lending products and services to serve the needs of WM & ISG clients.

The US Banks team seek a Vice President (“VP”) to join the First Line of Defense Business Risk team. He or she will support administration of the first line of defense business risk department.

*The VP US Banks First Line Risk Officer will be responsible for the following: *

*Key Responsibilities: *

  • Execution of Business Risk Growth monitoring framework, including creation of metrics reporting, analytics, and maintaining updated procedure documentation
  • Support of first line of defense Business Risk Metrics including maintaining inventory, procedure and defining streamlined metric data collection process and reporting
  • Partner across first line business risk teams, second line risk teams, and support partners (technology, finance, operations etc.) to implement and support metrics and additional cross function initiatives
  • Coordination of cross-function projects and communications

* * * *Required Skills/Experiences: •Minimum 6-8 years of professional experience in financial services industry; preferably in risk management, finance, compliance, or audit. •Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics (Preferred) •Banking experience (Preferred) •Risk Management experience (Preferred) •Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, both independently and as part of a team, under tight deadlines and with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, efficiently, and effectively. •Attention to detail, strong analytical, quantitative, and investigative problem-solving abilities. •Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; capable of clear and concise writing, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management, colleagues and clients. •Strong project management and technical reporting skills i.e. dashboard creation •Proficient with Microsoft Office products and reporting tools, i.e. Tableau. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
