New York University Visiting Faculty in Computer Science Fall 2024 in New York, New York
The Computer Science Department of the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University invites applications for full-time Visiting Faculty positions beginning in September 2024. These appointments are for 1 or 2 semesters and are not renewable. The appointments will be at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, or Visiting Professor.
The successful applicant will teach one course per semester in the department's undergraduate or graduate program.
The Computer Science department has 44 tenured or tenure-track faculty members as well as clinical, research, and adjunct faculty members. The department's current research interests include algorithms, cryptography and theory, computational biology, distributed computing and networking, graphics, vision and multimedia, machine learning and data science, natural language processing, scientific computing, and verification and programming languages.
Collaborative research with industry is facilitated by geographic proximity to computer science activities at AT&T, Facebook, Google, IBM, Bell Labs, NEC, and Siemens.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $135,000 for the rank of Assistant Professor, $90,000 - $160,000 for the rank of Associate Professor, and $125,000 - $185,000 for the rank of Full Professor. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organization considerations.
A PhD in Computer Science or a related area is required.
