The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The division of Women's Mental Health in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Variable Hour Officer - Patient Care Coordinator to work alongside the Practice Operations Supervisor to provide overall care coordination with the highest level of customer service delivery. This is a 100% remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Practice Operations Supervisor and Manager of Clinical Services to triage, coordinate, and manage the patient journey.
  • Act as liaison for the patient and family, working with both administrative and clinical staff from multiple divisions to improve the patient's overall experience and ensure appropriate care coordination.
  • Ensure that all related patient appointments for an episode of care are secured in a timely manner and coordinated for patient convenience.
  • Assist in addressing issues that impede timely access to care.
  • Work with patients and their families to answer questions and resolve issues, particularly around insurance coverage.
  • Assists with organizing the flow of patients from initial appointment to completion of their care experience.
  • Assist in the assessment and monitoring of patient satisfaction and responds promptly to voiced and identified concerns.
  • Applies advanced interpersonal and communication skills in all interactions with patients, clinical personnel, and administrative personnel.
  • Assist with verifying patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coordination of benefits.
  • Inform patient of fees and ensure collection of copays and payments.
  • Conduct all pre-determination, authorization, and pre-certification as applicable.
  • Adapts well to change and priority level of duties and demonstrates flexibility with division and organizational needs.
  • Responds constructively to the needs of all those they interact with.
  • Communicates with members of the team with complimentary/constructive feedback.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Previous work experience in patient care coordination, patient scheduling, secretarial role
  • Able to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in healthcare administration, business, psychology, or related field experience
  • Experienced user of electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
