Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for a Junior Transportation Analyst with a minimum of 1 year of transportation engineering or economics experience to join our multidisciplinary team based in the New York City office. This team specializes in traffic and revenue forecasting for toll facilities across the country, a unique application of transportation engineering, planning, and economics concepts. We believe training, collaboration, and connections are strengthened by working alongside team members. As such, this is a hybrid position.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with traffic data and toll facility transaction data analysis.

  • Perform specialized toll facility analyses including toll road feasibility studies, investment-grade traffic and revenue studies, toll rate analyses, customer behavior analyses, net revenue analyses, and toll diversion models.

  • Transportation planning studies, traffic impact studies, traffic operations analysis, and speed studies.

  • Developing traffic and toll facility transaction data collection plans.

  • Creating long-term planning traffic and revenue forecasts for toll roads.

  • Writing draft technical memoranda and reports.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret technical findings and share them with general audiences.

  • Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently.

  • Strong familiarity with standard business software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Working with large databases, dashboard development, and related software (Power BI, Tableau, MySQL) is a plus.

  • Experience with computer programming (such as C, Java, and Python) and GIS software is a plus.

  • Strong interest in transportation planning and socioeconomics is a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or related discipline.

  • A cover letter is required

  • A masters' degree is a plus.

  • EIT or AICP certification is a plus.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience, which could be a combination of internships and education.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $79,800 - $111,600 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
