Job Description Summary:
The FP&A Manager will contribute to the Transaction Loss FP&A activities such as building budgets and forecasts while providing transparency on transaction losses trends at product/segment/region level through close engagement with our business partners. This is a broad role in scope that requires strong partnership with both the BUs and the Risk organization to ensure risk assets and capabilities are leveraged to drive growth, improve efficiency, and increase PP Inc. profitability while at the same time effectively delivering on the day-to-day FP&A activities related to transaction losses.

The FP&A Manager will be a key member of the Transaction Loss Financial Planning & Analysis team and will report into the TL FP&A Lead. The role is based in San Jose but with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple time zones.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Contribute to the planning and forecasting for PayPal Transaction Loss and work with Risk & BI teams to produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, review quarterly forecasts and annual budgets across products/segments/regions. Be a strategic partner, providing clear and thoughtful analysis + communication.
  • Help maintain the Forecast Reserve Adequacy Model (FRAMe) for PayPal and its main cross-properties, ensuring appropriate reserve levels and adherence to audit/controllership principles.
  • Build a strong partnership with Risk BI/GOAL team to transform our forecasting and reporting capabilities towards a customer-based view and while providing proactive and action-oriented BU-level Transaction Loss insights to BU Leadership & BU FP&A partners.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives to generate growth and profitability, which entails building business cases, providing financial guidance and tracking initiatives execution.
  • Drive optimal decision making through insightful models and analysis, including consolidating information across Transaction Expenses and Losses to provide Transaction Margin insights.
  • Successfully collaborate with Transaction Loss FP&A colleagues, and the broader FP&A community including BU & Global Markets FP&A.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or management consulting; prior publicly traded company experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis. Strong Excel and Power Point skills. Experience with database products (i.e. Essbase, SQL, Python).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Experience in fast-paced, agile and growth environments.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with variable levels of professionals.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively, anticipate future challenges, and drive innovative recommendations.
  • Collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is
$82500 to $187990
