The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The candidate will work with the Department of Neurology, G.H. Sergievsky Center on clinical studies involving patients with Alzheimer's disease, related disorders, and healthy volunteers. The Technician B will be assisting other lab members in conducting research participant visits, ensuring the appropriate reporting to regulatory boards such as the Institutional Review Board and the Food and Drug Administration. In addition, the candidate will be trained to process PET and MR images and will be assisting research staff in processing data for the lab studies. Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing IRB and FDA submissions, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  • Schedule participant visits, coordinating all aspects according to protocol procedures.
  • Conduct visits with research participants in a professional, empathetic manner, maintaining confidentiality and respect.
  • Collate and input data into computerized databases accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in basic analysis and statistics, contributing to the interpretation of research findings.
  • Perform standardized tests on research participants, following established protocols.
  • Conduct structured interviews to elicit information from participants, ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Provide quality control for data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience and/or keen interest in neuroscience clinical research.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual eager to contribute to scientific advancements.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to maintain meticulous record-keeping.
  • Exceptional communication and writing abilities to effectively convey research findings and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also capable of independently driving projects forward.

Other Requirements

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written Spanish.
