The anticipated salary range for this role is between $175,000.00 and $225,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
The position will be responsible for supporting the Asset Backed Commercial Paper program ("ABCP") conduit management platform, including conduit funding, reporting related to the management of the program, credit surveillance, and portfolio management. SMBC is a sponsor of an ABCP conduit, which issues commercial paper in the capital markets.
Role Objectives
Supporting ABCP conduit management, reporting, and related matters to the sound management and maintenance of the program, working under the direction of the senior member of the group. Primary roles include funding (issuing CP), managing CP maturities and liquidity, reporting to relevant internal and external parties, and assisting in investor marketing. Coordinating reports to relevant third parties including investors, updating any regulatory and legal matters related to the industry. Providing credit surveillance and portfolio management support.
Others include:
Daily CP issuance for sound funding of ABCP program
Daily maturity limit and compliance monitoring for ABCP program
Support investor marketing efforts and respond to investor inquiries
Process deal documentation
Coordinate execution of new deals
Qualifications and Skills
Include but not limited to:
Highly collaborative and flexible in a team and client environment with ability to form good relationships internally and externally. Able to coordinate and communicate with various internal departments across the bank locally and internationally (middle/back office, global counterparts).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Works well in a culturally diverse and team-oriented environment. Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and an interest in continuous learning.
Knowledge of short-term money market and the investor base (or ability to learn)
Ability to learn deal documentation and execution contents
1-3 years of experience in finance and or related industry
Good communication overall, both internal and external audiences
Highly proficient MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
SIE, series 63, and 79 are required
