Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst – Information Technology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Financial Analyst to join our team. You will independently manage critical IT project and portfolio spend, with a primary focus on Epic, our strategic electronic health record program. You will prepare, analyze, and report portfolio financial results across the organization, serving as a principal partner to project stakeholders, IT, and Finance.

Role Overview

  • Lead the end-to-end financial management of the Epic project as well as developing business cases for high-priority IT strategic initiatives for consideration by Senior Leadership

  • Manage high-volume IT project financial data and metrics from various sources such as general Ledger and connected applications, including Strata, Cognos, Coupa, Clarity, etc.

  • Analyze project performance and provide monthly variance analysis and reconciliation of financial results.

  • Serve as a financial Subject Matter Expert and Trusted Advisor for IT leadership while ensuring awareness of financial performance and raising critical issues in a timely manner.

  • Independently lead complex IT initiatives' budgeting, planning, and forecasting efforts.

  • Plan both operating and capital spend which requires knowledge of large-scale IT environments.

  • Lead the development and management of detailed financial models to help solve challenges with complex scenarios, ensuring precision and accuracy.

  • Maintain the integrity of the books and records by preparing and submitting monthly accruals and journal entries for processing.

  • Lead discussions with senior-level IT management, as well as internal clients and stakeholders across our institution.

  • Support the effort to develop a future-state IT Finance architecture, inclusive of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), TBM taxonomy / IT Recovery, and/or show-back of IT Products & Services.

  • Manage numerous routine and ad-hoc deliverables, requiring you to work independently or with other members of Finance, Technology, or across MSK.

    Key Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Finance/Budgeting/Accounting experience including a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Information Technology (IT) Finance.

  • Experience with cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including working with advanced functions.

  • Solid understanding of financial reporting tools and general ledger reporting systems.

  • Prior experience managing Epic-related financials is a plus.

  • A critical thinker with strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a challenging environment.

  • A self-starter who takes initiative

  • Skilled at working collaboratively and problem-solving with others to meet shared objectives.

  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and implementing communications based on that understanding.

  • Location: 633 Third Avenue, NY

  • Reporting to Senior Director IT Finance

  • Hybrid Schedule: Onsite Once a quarter or as needed based on stakeholder meetings.

    Pay Range: $98,500 - $157,600
