We believe that innovation and growth are driven by an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce. We aim to create a global team where everyone belongs and has equal opportunities, inspiring our talent to be their true selves. Together, we are building a better tomorrow for our customers, partners and communities.

Role and Responsibilities

About the Global UX Studio

We’re a unit tasked with leading the future of experience-driven development at Samsung. This means we get to build innovative products that drastically improve people’s lives; own and articulate good user experience design for Samsung; and we get to implement an innovation approach at scale. The nature of the work we do focuses on a 3+ year future vision, where we iterate with new form factors and emerging technologies to define new ways for people to interact with technology.

The team is a blend between researchers, technologists, strategists, and designers. While our individual strengths are in different focus areas, we foster a collaborative approach to define experience innovation. The Global UX studio learns through making and communicates Samsung’s future trajectory. As a diverse and relatively small group, we are currently looking to add another member to our team.

Skills and Qualifications

Who you are

  • You demonstrate a successful track record leading and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in creating great products, with proven skills in visual craft, interaction design, and prototyping

  • You have a solid understanding of existing and emerging technologies, their boundaries, and how they are applied in the context of consumer products

  • You have the ability to see the larger product vision, and identify the details that will bring it to life

  • You have experience designing across multiple channels, including web, mobile and native applications. Experiential, physical, voice, and consumer products are a plus

  • You have a robust knowledge of design and prototyping tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Protopie, and Principle

  • You are autonomous and carry a self-starter mentality to identify and tackle design problems independently

  • You have the ability to synthesize user and market research and translate findings into concise project briefs and design rationale

  • You have a craving to explore unknown territories and ambiguous problems

Goes without saying

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Embrace curiosity and the uncharted territories it can lead to

  • Ability and desire to solve complex product design problems and the strategy skills to deliver best-in-class solutions

  • Experience working in a highly iterative, collaborative environment

  • Experience creating interfaces, large-scale digital experiences, or applications

What you get to do

  • Work on exploratory and experiential innovation for Samsung’s mobile product line with a future vision of 2–3 years. This means your work won’t always focus on directly shipping features to consumers, but rather design for future product roadmaps that consider new technologies and form factors that have yet to be released

  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams on initial concepts, user flows, and prototypes. The studio functions with a hands-on approach with the shared goal of creating meaningful experiences

  • Help position the role of innovation at Samsung by constantly iterating and designing compelling experiences across multiple touch-points and emerging technologies

  • Ground the work in a deep understanding of users and their needs. This team is responsible for finding meaningful problem spaces Samsung is positioned to solve, starting with the user

  • Bring your own unique perspective into the studio. As a relatively small team, each voice can and should give shape to the types of problems Samsung should address and how best to achieve them as a team

  • Move quickly from thinking to doing, shaping ideas from initial sketches to high fidelity proof of concepts, and supporting others in doing the same along the way

  • Lead workshops to help break down ambiguity and translate unknowns into clear and tangible outputs

  • Champion new ways of thinking and designing to set the bar for quality deliverables

  • Design with a rigorous attention to detail from concept through delivery
