Position Description:

CGI is looking for a self-motivated Senior Database Engineer with experience in Relational Databases, Data Profiling & Data Modeling for a large financial client in New York, NY. The candidate must have prior expertise in relational databases, structure data modelling, optimal querying and diagnosing database functioning issues, as well as reviewing database performance and user reports. The Candidate must be open to Hybrid Working (3 days/week) in NYC.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Database Design and Modeling

• Collaborate with stakeholders to design and create efficient database schemas

• Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and maintainability

• Document Data Models, Technical specifications, and Designs.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including data engineers, UI/UX

designers, QA engineers, DevOps specialists, and business stakeholders.

• Suggest design and approaches to the global team and work in collaboration to

implement the process.

• Interact with Product Owners and architects

• Utilize agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban for iterative development and

delivery, participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 9-10 years experience in Relational databases, Data Profiling and Data Modeling

• Ability to recommend and work on performance and query refinements and overall

tuning

• Strong technical expertise and analytical skills

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities. (keen soft skills)

• Should be an independent contributor with experience working in a distributed team

• Utilize agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban for iterative development and

delivery, participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.

• Must have experience in solution design and interacting with Product Owners, users

and architects

• Must have exposure to CI/CD.

• Should be familiar with design/requirement tools like JIRA & Confluence

• Exposure to Big Data, API and ETL is a plus

• Critical thinking, Problem-solving techniques

• Able to work independently with a global team

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skills level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate for this type of position of the current range of $60,300- $146,800.
