DUTIES: Lead software implementation critical to the MongoDB Atlas infrastructure. Can complete medium-sized tasks with an introduction to context. Design software to improve performance and scalability of the Atlas infrastructure. Utilize domain knowledge of Java, implementation patterns, and system design. Scopes and develops small/medium features on their own. Does thorough and insightful peer code reviews to ensure quality and security of implementation from other engineers. Handles Support and cross-team escalations within area of expertise Provides guidance to entry-level engineers. Shadows interviews and interviews for their own team. Contributes to backlog prioritization and maintenance. Must appear in office 3 days per week. Working from home permissible 2 days per week.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineering-related role.Experience and/or education must include: 1.Write backend systems in a compiled language, including Java, C#, and Go; 2.AWS, Azure, or GCP; 3.Observability and alerting, such as Prometheus and Grafana; 4.Single-page front-end applications using React/TypeScript or similar frameworks; 5.Code review using Source version control; and 6.Build modern, scalable web applications and experience with design patterns, such as with distributed systems, databases, parallelism.
