Location:New York, NY Position Title:Software Development Engineer II (Req# 7650947)Job Description:Lead the design and implementation of software components and systems, ensuring adherence to best practices, architectural guidelines, and coding standards. Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and architect scalable solutions for complex business requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Review their code, offer constructive feedback, and help them improve their skills. Act as a subject matter expert, assisting the team in resolving technical challenges. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance. Identify and address potential bugs, security vulnerabilities, and optimization opportunities. Drive the team to maintain a high level of code cleanliness and documentation. Participate in project planning and estimation activities. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliverables. Ensure projects are completed within the defined scope, timeline, and budget. Analyze software performance and identify bottlenecks. Optimize code and architecture to improve system efficiency. Debug and resolve complex technical issues, providing solutions for critical problems in a timely manner. Lead the development efforts for Automatic Messaging and the SDK, taking ownership of their design, implementation, and maintenance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, quality assurance engineers, and UX designers, to deliver high-quality software products that meet user needs and business objectives. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development such as GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, NodeJs, and Javascript. Apply this knowledge to enhance existing processes and propose innovative solutions. Ensure the software development process follows relevant industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the improvement of the development team's efficiency and productivity by advocating for the adoption of new tools, methodologies, and best practices. Position is fixed location based in New York office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. Job Requirements:Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation. Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): -Software design and development -Java-Code review -Performance optimization and troubleshootingMust have one (1) year of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently-Javascript Experience may be gained before, during or after the attainment of a degree. 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary: $141,500.00 - $146,500.00/year.To apply: Send resumes to jmoon@liveperson.com.
