The Global Strategy & Capabilities (GS&C) team supports the Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) by being a sought after partner to deliver a frictionless value added experience to meet changing Merchant and Partner needs, enable Global Acceptance and drive future growth.

For Amex to be “Welcomed Everywhere and Used Every Day”, we collaborate with teams across Merchant Services to help build unique experiences for merchants through effective client management, third-party acquiring partnerships, world-class analytics, promotions and marketing initiatives. The team partners closely with senior business leaders and plays a key role in strengthening the U.S. Merchant value proposition. Leveraging analytics and insights and combining that with product and industry expertise, the team delivers data driven recommendations and builds strategies to drive acceptance, coverage, acquisition, retention and satisfaction of Merchants.

This role represents a unique opportunity to be the analytics expert yet collaborate closely with business colleagues to drive the growth strategies. The person will have the opportunity to influence the overall strategy of the organization and occasionally adopt the hat of a consultant.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Creating world class analytics and adding valuable insights to inform US Partnerships’ acquisition strategy

  • Lead the analytics, measurement and reporting across Key Performance Indicators for the highly evolving payment facilitator space

  • Develop insights into merchant behavior and introduce new approaches to transform complex behavioral data into actionable information

  • Partner with US Partnerships on strategic initiatives driving growth

  • Establish and maintain close relationships with key partners in GMNS to understand business strategies, develop goals / objectives, and address challenges and opportunities

  • Enable transformation in decision making capabilities across channels by exploring big data/machine learning techniques integrating traditional structured data with unstructured data

Minimum Qualifications

  • (2-4) years relevant experience (financial services preferred)

  • Bachelors Degree Required; Master's Degree in a quantitative field Preferred (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics)

  • Expertise in database management systems (e.g., SQL, SAS etc.) and Tableau is required; Knowledge and experience with Python and Machine Learning a plus

  • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to apply both quantitative methods and business skills to create insights and drive results

  • Excellent business writing and presentation with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of managements and influence strategy

  • Strong collaborator with an ability to build relationships and challenge the status quo.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and across a matrix organization partnering with capabilities, decision sciences, technology teams and external vendors to deliver solutions at top speed

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with a strong ability to multi-task

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
