Amazon Senior Financial Analyst in New York, New York

Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member on the Devices Marketing and Customer Experience Finance team. This role will have heavy impact and high visibility to essential, business-critical processes, and will require interactions with Directors and VPs within the Devices Business and Finance. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most innovative businesses at Amazon, in a role where you will have regular interaction with executives and various business units across the organization. This role will play a key part in evaluating ambiguous and complex monetization opportunities, designing new or enhance reporting and models that make our data more actionable, and developing and communicating business insights through data analytics.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills, prioritization and modeling capabilities, keen attention to detail, sound logical reasoning, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Key job responsibilities

  • Support the Devices Brand Studio and Market research teams, including building financial models to influence input metrics and drive business support and providing support for month end reviews, forecasts, and annual operating plans

  • Support Cross-PL marketing and measurement including operational strategy support, leading regular business review meetings, driving measurement for incrementality, and optimizing marketing spend across the Devices business

  • Collaborate with several internal stakeholders across PL marketing teams and the PL finance teams supporting them

  • Build financial models, derive insights from large data sets, and present analyses and recommendations to senior leadership

  • Produce ad-hoc analyses and assisting in various projects

  • Partner with tech teams to drive efficiencies and automation supporting marketing and production reporting & analytics

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
