Conducting quantitative and qualitative research and analytics, Chobani’s Marketing Insights team produces category, consumer and shopper insights to help inform marketing, product, and business decision making. As a key member of the Marketing Insights Team, the Director of Marketing Data Science makes use of company and syndicated data, integrated with primary consumer research, to help inform the strategy, development, and measurement of Chobani marketing strategies and initiatives.

Chobani is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Marketing Data Science to champion the development of data-driven marketing initiatives. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of data analytics, marketing strategy, and the consumer packaged goods industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leveraging data to influence strategic decisions, drive business growth, and collaborate effectively with senior executives across the organization.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Data Integration:

  • Lead the integration of syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), account-specific data, and consumer insights to deliver comprehensive analyses of category, competitor, and Chobani performance.
  • Develop and communicate executive-level insights and briefings, shaping marketing, product, company strategies.
  • Partner with finance leaders and senior executives to align marketing strategies with broader business goals, driving data-informed decision-making, and ensuring the effective measurement of marketing ROI.

Advanced Analytics & Insights:

  • Design and implement robust marketing measurement plans (and influence the execution of marketing programs to enable them); evaluate and report on the effectiveness of Chobani marketing initiatives.
  • Lead insight discovery processes, leveraging expert networks (Mintel, Nielsen, etc.) and industry professionals to provide a holistic view of potential market entries and growth opportunities.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and methodologies to deliver ongoing trend analyses and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee the collection, cleaning, and analysis of large datasets; interpret complex statistical outputs and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Synthesize multiple data sources to produce clear and concise reports for non-technical audiences, ensuring key insights are accessible and impactful.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership:

  • As a part of the Marketing Insights team, you’ll collaborate closely with Marketing Researchers, Consumer Marketing Leaders, Marketing Agencies, the New Product Development team, R&D, and Commercial/Sales teams to build and align data-driven marketing strategies with business objectives.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders through compelling data narratives and strategic insights, fostering a data-centric culture within the marketing organization.

Requirements

Experience & Expertise:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a focus on marketing and consumer insights.
  • Extensive experience in the consumer packaged goods industry, with a deep understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior.
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical methods and analytics software (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Tableau, SPSS).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong people manager, with an ability to build and lead a scrappy team of marketing analysts and data scientists.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a proven ability to integrate complex data streams into strategic recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects, prioritize tasks, and meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) as well as data visualization tools.

Compensation Range: $196,800.00 - $295,200.00, plus bonus.
