Design fashion image databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability. Build a large-scale apparel & beauty knowledge graph database that can be used to generate sophisticated insights for fashion & beauty brands and retailers. Convert the developed fashion database, taxonomies, and architectures into knowledge graph structure. Create and enforce fashion image database development standards. Revise the database development standards and test changes to database systems. Document and communicate fashion database schemas and taxonomy, using accepted notations. Develop fashion database architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address fashion and apparel business requirements. Build automated analytics reporting in response to needs from stakeholders across the fashion & beauty contents of Hearst businesses. Collaborate with system and software architects, design analysts, and others to understand fashion and apparel industry requirements. Identify, evaluate, and recommend hardware or software technologies to achieve desired database performance for fashion content retrieval. Develop statistical models and algorithms to analyze what is driving product CTR (click through rates) for the fashion & beauty content pages of Hearst Magazines. Telecommuting permitted. Job Requirements: Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Apparel Design, Computer Science, Data Science or in a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a data engineering-related occupation. Special Requirements: Position requires experience, knowledge or coursework in each of the following skills:1.Conducting data wrangling, data visualization, and model generation to form specialized databases2.Data engineering with large fashion datasets using AWS (EC2, EMR, RDS), PostgreSQL, and MongoDB 3.Utilizing Node.js, SQL, and MQL4.Conducting database performance analysis and tuning5.Using database modeling, designing data structures and schemas for fashion product data and operating high-availability database systems6.Python, Ruby, Perl, R, or Matlab7.Using statistical models and analysis methods8.Building, integrating, and maintaining data pipelines and machine learning modelsEmployment and background checks may be required.Salary Range: $113,000 to $135,000.
