The Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Resident Engineer- Bridges are:

* Act as the field point of contact for the Client and all Project Stakeholders

* Report directly to the assigned HDR Project Manager and / or HDR Department Manager
* Manage & supervise an assigned HDR and Sub-consultant REI Field Staff consisting of field office personnel and construction field inspectors.
* Responsible to conduct construction schedule analysis reviews along with recommendations
* Responsible to review and document verifications of daily construction inspections
* Assists in the preparation and negotiations of construction change orders
* Prepares daily, weekly and monthly project progress reports
* Schedules and chairs Project Progress meetings and distributes Meeting Minutes
* Performs routine assignments requiring application of spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling software.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* BS in Civil Engineering or Construction
* 15 years progressive experience in Bridge Engineering and Construction Inspection
* P.E. License is required
* Must be able to work in a team environment
* Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
* Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

* Candidates who reside locally in the NY Metro area are preferred.
