Dow Jones Senior Associate, B2C Communications in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:


The Senior Associate of B2C Communications is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day execution of communication strategies and plans that support multiple Dow Jones business units (BUs), including Audience & Subscriptions, Ad Sales and New Ventures.

The ideal candidate will have internal and external communications experience, extensive knowledge of the ever-evolving media landscape and a passion for informing audiences through clear and creative storytelling. This position reports to the B2C Business Partner.


  • Assist in creating compelling storylines and communications for internal and external audiences

  • Collaborate with the B2C Business Partner to deliver on communications needs for internal stakeholders

  • Use traditional and digital communication channels in creative ways that resonate with audiences and align with the overall Dow Jones strategy

  • Draft press releases and other promotional materials to publicize achievements across BUs, including subscription milestones, product launches, partnership announcements and more

  • Craft and edit original content for internal channels, including emails, intranet features and newsletters

  • Draft content for and manage BU-specific communications, including town halls, newsletters, BU Leadership messages and more

  • Track and record all external placements and comprise regular media reports

  • Generate and update media lists

  • Develop and grow working relationships with key media contacts

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or related field

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple campaigns at any given time

  • Strong writing and presentation skills

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Enthusiastic team player

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability and drive to find creative ways to promote Dow Jones products and talent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A diverse mix of experience in PR and corporate communications is highly preferred

  • Experience with crisis communications and reputation management

  • Experience working in television or the media industry

  • Established relationships with reporters covering media, advertising and technology

  • Familiarity with Muck Rack, TVEyes and other media monitoring systems
