The salary range for this role, based in New York is $87,280.00 to $109,100.00. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate'sexperience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Position Summary

Pernod Ricard North America's Commercial Transformation division is driving usage of advanced analytics, machine learning, and other technologies throughout the commercial organization's decision making through an organizational digital transformation. This position, part of the Commercial Transformation vertical, will own the integration, adoption, and utilization of transformational data analytics and tools for our sales teams via a centralized control tower. This role requires a broad range of analytical and interpersonal skills including understanding the capabilities and limitations of data, translating information into actionable insights, training and supporting sales teams, and identifying improvements and synthesizing feedback of the tools. The analyst position will work closely with a variety of roles across multiple levels of the organization. The position is best suited for sociable, communicative, user-centric, and analytically-minded individuals who can provide high touch support to the team leveraging advanced analytics in the daily business planning process.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

- Conduct Analyses to Direct Strategic Planning:

  • Perform analyses using cutting-edge platforms to generate insights that support annual strategic planning (with quarterly refreshes) and identify new areas of growth opportunity throughout the year
  • Become a subject matter expert on the local market landscape & nuances, corporate priorities, and brand & category strategy to help leadership prioritize resources and direct goals
  • Work with market leadership to develop materials clearly communicating the rationale of their strategy to the rest of the organization

- Own Tool Usage and Adoption in Market:

  • Support market teams' usage of digital tools to design, implement, and track all programs, incentives, quotas, and KPIs
  • Serve as the single source of truth for the field on commercial data strategy & provide a regular forum to address specific questions
  • Host ad-hoc training / booster classes as needed for each market
  • Support use of analytics in program planning by using digital tools to set goals, allocate budgets, develop attack lists, and design optimal coverage strategies
  • Collaborate with our distributor partners to embed insights and recommendations into their systems

- Track Performance of Programs Planned using D-STAR:

  • Create trackers, conduct analyses, and recommend course-correction strategies with sales teams
  • Spearhead retrospective performance analysis with the sales teams to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide thought leadership to standardize and improve program tracking process

- Communicate Market Analytical needs and Tool Improvements:

  • Gather and synthesize feedback from users
  • Proactively identify areas to improve usefulness or intuitiveness of the tools or use cases tools can be applied to through a commercial lens
  • Manage a closed-loop feedback process to manage data, identify bugs, and validate accuracy
  • Stay up to date on technological innovations, data analytics trends, and act as digital tools champion throughout organization
  • Communicate and train on new features and use cases as they are rolled out

Nature & Scope

  • Position reports to the Director of Commercial Transformation and must be able to work cross-functionally as role works with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • This person will be a key thought partner and voice of the market sales team to ensure they have the analytical capabilities they need to beat the market
  • This person must develop key relationships with our distributor partners and within Sales, Marketing, IT, and Transformation divisions

Experience / Background

- Education:

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • MBA or other Advanced degree a plus

- Experience:

  • 3+ years of work experience, preferably with 1-2 years of experience in business analysis / consulting / finance
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial thinker
  • Strong analytical skills, creativity in problem solving, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability in developing materials and effectively presenting information
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to build clear, easy-to-use templates / financial models
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and experience with PowerBI
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
  • Exposure to the consumer goods and/or beverage industry preferred
