Film at Lincoln Center Senior Accountant in New York, New York

Organization-wide supervision of integrated financial systems, including but not limited to general ledger, payroll, contribution, ticketing, merchandise, film submission, badge sales, andvideo streaming; writes and updates organization-wide financial information handbook; develops and maintains organization-wide staff financial information portal including Amex reconciliations and travel reimbursements; creates strategic plans for better integration of systems and efficiencies that can be achieved using current and new systems; installs and trains users on new modules on enterprise systems to use technology to streamline financial processes; regularly meets and collaborates with other departments (Development, Box Office, Sponsorship) to institute and maintain best practices to facilitate accurate revenue recognition; point person for annual audit, including preparation of functional expenses, audit and fieldwork requests, supporting schedules, and subsequent testing; reconcile revenue weekly with Tessitura management system for both earned and contributed revenue; maintain Contributions Receivable and Endowment Pledges Receivable schedules; ensure accurate deferred revenue recognition for theater rentals, tickets, ticket fees, gift cards, and subscriptions; prepare month-end bank reconciliations for all bank accounts; prepare weekly and semi-monthly payroll journals and act as backup for payroll processing; day-to-day accounts receivable. Fulfilling AR invoice requests on a timely basis and past due invoice collections. Weekly reconciliation with Tessitura for both earned and contributedrevenue; day-to-day response to all collection requests from both outside sources and department contacts; check deposits as necessary for AR and development contributions. Ensure all check and wire contributions tie with Tessitura reporting; maintain the wire receivable log ensuring all incoming wires are appropriately accounted for in both Tessitura and the accounting system; review all entries with Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) monthly. Book reclassification journal entries; end of year financial close out; other duties as assigned by CAO.Requires Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field. If Bachelor degree is not in Accounting, an Accounting Certificate is required.Must have 3 years experience in Financial, Managerial, and Payroll Accounting; maintaining prepaid expense schedules and depreciating fixed assets; recognizing revenue across multiple complex revenue streams such as box office and contributed revenue, including maintaining deferred revenue accounts; working with ERP software and Financial systems; managing payroll system to financial system pipeline; managing financial audits from original requests through final financial statements; developing firm-wide financial processes, and training colleagues from all departments in use of ERP software and how to comply with expense reimbursement, invoice submission andinvoice request processes; using complex chart of accounts, including use of contra accounts and multiple funds; reconciling large amounts of financial transactions with cash across multiple bank accounts.Experience must include use of Excel to analyze large amounts of data (more than 10,000 transactions), including use of pivot tables, vlookup and index match; accounting for not-for-profit arts organizations; use of Blackbaud NXT for revenue accounting, bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation; creating functional expense statements for non-profit organizations associated with audited Financial Statements; registering for state tax withholdings and unemployment insurance in different states.

Minimum Salary: 100,000 Maximum Salary: 105,000 Salary Unit: Yearly
