Pay:$75,000.00

Purpose of the Position

The Security Director is responsible for the overall security of the residence and ensures all clients, staff

and visitors are safe 24 hours, 7 days a week. The person in this position maintains adequate security

coverage for each shift and documents the need for additional security personnel on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain appropriate security coverage on each security shift at the residence.

• Review protocols with security staff to ensure the safety of all Win clients, staff and visitors.

• Conduct security training for staff and clients as needed.

• Review security policies and protocols with security staff on a regular basis.

• Manage day to day security compliance at the residence.

• Participate in fire drills and emergency evacuations and report unusual occurrences to the

manager and Program Director.

• Must be on call, 24 hours, 7 days a week.

• Monitor security and fire alarm systems and have knowledge of emergency procedures.

• Possess a basic knowledge of building features and general maintenance of the fire panel.

• Oversee and maintain accurate files of all incidents in the residence.

• Cooperate with the Human Capital Department for all investigations.

• Collaborate with the Human Capital Department to address recruitment and staff performance

concerns.

• Champion and model the use of Evidence Based Practices (EBP), promote Trauma Informed Care

(TIC) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) among security staff.

• Perform crisis intervention in situations involving Win clients, staff, and visitors.

• Recognize signs of abuse and work as part of the residence security team to identify drug use,

child abuse or criminal activity.

• Respond to security emergencies and keep the Field Manager and the Program Director

informed of all outcomes.

• Respond to emergencies during unit inspections or other areas of the residence as needed.

• Patrol the building and its perimeter to ensure safe space for clients, staff and visitors.

• Provide direct supervision to assigned security personnel.

• Ensure that all performance evaluations are completed.

• Maintain good relationships with law enforcement officials in the Community

Work with Program Director to monitor move in kit inventory control for new residence.

• Attend all meetings and staff training on and off site as directed by the Field Manger and the

Assistant Vice President of Corporate Security.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to visually observe CCTV camera.

• Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in an 8-story building.

• Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

• Must be able to lift and use a fire extinguisher.

Qualifications:

• Commitment to Win’s mission, vision, and values.

• HS diploma or equivalent required.

• Five (5) years of experience providing security services in social service or residential setting.

• Valid NYS Security Guard License.

• Valid Fire Safety Director Certification and First Aid/CPR/AED.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of crisis intervention and handling of violent crimes.

• Demonstrated ability to work with at-risk populations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

• Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus.
