Weill Cornell Medical College Revenue Cycle Administrator in New York, New York

Salary Range: $123,600.00 - $152,400.00

*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices

Position Summary

Under guidance, is responsible for the managerial oversight of the management and evaluation of physician billing and collection activities. This role also assists in the development and implementation of strategies and procedures used to optimize revenue opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilizes financial reports to develop action plans aimed at maintaining or improving financial and/or operational performance.

  • Develops and implements billing guidelines and policies. Ensures daily billing and collections processes are compliant with regulatory requirements.

  • Reviews, updates and maintains fee schedules and procedure code dictionaries. Develops, writes and distributes changes to WCM’s coding rules when needed.

  • Directs all cash management activities for professional services provided by physicians.

  • Assesses new technology, prepares cost benefit analysis, makes recommendations and implements products/software that will improve operational performance.

  • Manages vendor relationships with Weill Cornell Medicine.

  • Analyzes data and develops procedures to reverse adverse trends.

  • Establishes short and long range goals to optimize revenue operations.

  • Ensures daily billing and collections processes are compliant with regulatory requirements.

  • Ensures that managed care credentialing and related billing and financial related onboarding for new recruits occurs in a timely manner. Orients new faculty members to the billing process and the correct submission of charges and payments.

  • Provides direction to and training of staff on functional specific tasks, applications, concepts, policies and/or procedures.

  • Establishes operational benchmarks, metrics and productivity standards to streamline workflows and and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Generates reports for analysis.

  • Attends workshops, seminars and/or conferences to keep abreast of standards and best practices within the field. Disseminates information to colleagues and/or staff as appropriate.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Approximately 5 years of related supervisory experience within physician billing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Prior experience working with an eMR system.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of third party reimbursement.
