Job Title: Resident EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Resident Engineer to join our dynamic team working on the NYC Parks Program. Your day will start by meeting the Superintendent at the job site by 7 am. Your primary responsibilities will include observing contractors on site, ensuring safety, and coordinating with the Project Manager to guarantee the necessary manpower is available. You will liaise with the Parks Department and contractors and use a spec book to understand contents. Additionally, you will ensure on-site safety, such as contractors wearing PPE, record and track measurements for pay items. Your role involves traveling between 20-40 sites in a day (about 5-10 miles usually total), for which mileage is reimbursed.

Hard Skills

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, landscape architecture, construction management, ecology, environmental engineering

• 1+ year experience working on a construction site (including internships)

• Experience working on green infrastructure, landscaping, tree inspection, parks, root inspection, or understanding of soils

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

• Vehicle to get to work

Soft Skills

• Ability to work independently with little supervision

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in NEW YORK, New York.

Work Environment

The Resident Engineer will be working throughout the 5 boroughs (most likely will be tied to one borough) on Parks Department jobs. The working hours are from 7 AM to 3 PM.
