RECRUITMENT SPECIALIST

Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for a motivated and result driven Recruitment Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing screening and selecting qualified candidates for various positions within the organization. The recruitment specialist will collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.

ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS, INC.

Homes for the Homeless operate shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with leadership at the sites and Central Office to identify hiring needs.

  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs and recruitment events to promote the company and its job openings throughout the five boroughs.

  • Visit sites on a weekly basis.

  • Work with different sites to identify training needs for retention purposes.

  • Manage hiring platforms such as ADP, Indeed, Idealist, Craigslist, Handshake

  • Provide reports on a daily or weekly basis.

  • Provide reports on current job market trends.

  • Assist with updating job descriptions.

  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.

  • Screen resumes and conduct an initial phone interview to assess candidates’ qualification and fit for the role.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Effective at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Comfortable with public speaking and networking

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Strong time management skills

  • Knowledge of hiring platforms

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
