Customs and Border Protection PROGRAM MANAGER in New York, New York

Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, New York Field Office, Trade and Cargo Security Division, located in New York, NY. Responsibilities This position will allow you to use your expertise in managing and overseeing various programs which have an agency-wide and government-wide impact. This position starts at a salary of $143,559.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $186,629.00 (GS-14, Step 10). In this Program Manager position you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals managing a variety of agency-wide law enforcement programs. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating the activities of an organization Directing a program segment that performs professional, technical, and administrative work Leading complex projects, often cutting across organizational/activity lines Serving as the project leader for Program Segment and Program Office projects as a Subject Matter Expert Analyzing, facilitating, reporting, and providing recommendations for process Improvement, reducing costs, and establishing appropriate process metrics and process controls NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Background Investigation: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity. Additional Information Security Clearance: The incumbent must obtain and maintain, at a minimum, a secret national security clearance. Leadership Training: All newly appointed second level supervisors are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment. The duration of the training will include 4 weeks of in residence training in Harpers Ferry, WV. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed.
