About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative Product Design Director to help guide product design on the Video, Audio, and Events team. You will be responsible for designing experiences that grow our video, audio, and events businesses across our sites and deepen our relationship with our users. You will also be tasked with designing internal tools that are used by employees around the world to plan and produce video and audio content. You'll need to work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Product Designers to build features that will support all of our brands across all of our markets.

About You

As a designer, you imagine and establish foundational design principles and strategies. You strive to create value for the user and the business alike. You are enthusiastic about both doing and leading.

Experience designing, launching, and iterating on quality user-centered web products, particularly ones focused on video

Experience designing enterprise content management systems

Deep expertise in visual design and interaction design; ability to drive and enhance aesthetics

Experience with rapid prototyping, iterating and refining design solutions based on user feedback

Experience employing user research and analytics data to develop a deep understanding of how users engage, what matters to them, and identifying pain points

Ability to draw from data analytics to uncover behavioral insights and inform design decisions

Experience with a range of design practices and artifacts (user journeys, affinity maps, archetypes, wireframes, functional specs, case studies) and knowledge of when they are appropriate to use

Experience working in an iterative, experimental product development cycle alongside engineers and product managers

A love of cultural brands and an interest in driving the future of storytelling which will help frame the larger context we are working within

As a teammate, you collaborate across all disciplines and levels. You possess the skills to represent design in your respective area of focus.

Well-developed skills in identifying, prioritizing, and communicating design requirements; leads the solution of a product area

Understanding of how adjacent disciplines (strategy, product, research, engineering, etc.) relate to design and how all core design skills work together

Ability to support design leads and team members by proactively driving the design process

Solid experience presenting design work to senior stakeholders and managing and addressing feedback from different sources

A holistic approach to problem-solving; visual thinker and rapid synthesizer of information

Experience working in an iterative, experimental product development cycle alongside engineers and product managers

Adaptability in a fast-paced rapidly changing media and technology environment

Willingness to get your hands dirty with the details, including design QA

As a manager, you show initiative and leadership skills within your project teams.

Exceptional track record to empower and manage teams of designers, to help them grow and succeed.

Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal skills, to clearly communicate and lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.

Strong articulation skills; ability to establish a perspective and strategy behind design decisions

Ability to know when to set aside design and focus on the interpersonal aspects of work

Contributes to the ongoing development of the Design Team's culture
