JAMS, Inc. Practice Development Manager in New York, New York
The PDM’s role is to increase exposure and recognition for JAMS and its panelists while building business and/or increasing practice size. This position will require significant and proactive interaction with panelists, associates, clients, and will be accountable for the successful implementation of stated practice development objectives.
PDM will collaboratively build the complex practices of panelists through regional practice development activities; partner with appropriate manager to develop and execute ADR education programs; plan, produce roundtables and other internal events as well as focus groups in conjunction with Client Relations; appear as JAMS representative at regular networking events; regular client meetings to promote JAMS and our services; PDM will build marketing plans for national practice areas as designated by their manager
Partner with Marketing/Practice development team to ensure that panelists are meeting or exceeding annual practice goals and assist with panelist market launches; participate in media opportunities including article placement, media introductions, internet exposure, internal and external promotions, etc.
Professional client service (including panelists)
Prepare and manage annual local office Practice Development budget for which they are assigned
Available for any other projects designated by their manager
Regularly and customarily partners with their manager, CMO, Ops VPs, panelists and other managers in practice development efforts; have vast and ongoing knowledge of the assigned markets, JAMS target practice areas, and the practice preferences of JAMS panelists
Ability to assess client satisfaction, and identify additional client service opportunities and implement strategies to strengthen client relationships, increase client retention and resolve client issues
Must have a good understanding of the legal industry including court processes and legal terminology
Computer literate and proficient in all software programs required for the position Organization Excellent ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks in a quick paced environment
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred
At least three years of comparable work experience in administration, practice development; legal experience and client service experience, a plus
For internal candidates, proven ability as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Specialist or similar position for a minimum of 2 years
Essential Job Requirements
Talking with clients, panelists, etc., over the phone and/or face-to-face for extended periods of time
Effectively and articulately communicate with our clients in regards to our services, policies, procedures, etc.
Handle problems for clients and/or panelists, etc., who are sometimes angry or impatient
Local and sometimes national travel
