Salary: $73,588-$80,000

The Chakraborty Laboratory, in the Department of Urology and the Department of Oncological Science at the Tisch Cancer Institute, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), is currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow to work on an NIH-funded project. Candidates with a background in cell and molecular biology, cell signaling, cancer biology, tumor immunology, and epigenetics are encouraged to apply.

Our research focuses on multiple areas of cancer biology, including functional genomics, DNA damage repair, metabolism, cell biology, cell signaling pathways, metastasis, cellular plasticity, and cancer stem cells. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for cancer biology and translational research.

The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Chakraborty, other researchers in the team, and collaborators at ISMMS and other institutions. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for training clinical fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques and is expected to apply for external funding opportunities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have

  • A recent PhD and/or MD-PHD.

  • Expertise in Cell biology, molecular biology, CRISPR, DNA cloning, epigenetics, or equivalent fields.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with hands on experience in ChIP- sequencing, CRISPR and in vivo mice models

  • Excellent track record in research and publication.

  • A high level of motivation to immerse themselves in a diverse environment, bridging the boundaries between basic and translational research.

  • This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Technical Duties:

  • The Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct a variety of research tasks under the direction of the PI using advanced computational biology, machine learning and statistical techniques, including network modeling, gene expression analysis and analysis of next-generation sequencing data.

  • Must be able to read and understand scientific data being applied to conduct the research.

  • Will collaborate with the PI in the development of new projects and research methodologies. Incumbents are expected to stay apprised of the literature as well as practical skill sets relevant to the field.

  • Will nurture collaborative relationships with fellow scientists within the institution, locally, nationally and internationally.

  • Will ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Compensation Statement

Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
