CNBC Digital is seeking a multiskilled and detail obsessed Video Producer to join its growing video team under the NYC-based Make It brand. CNBC Make It is a fast-growing, consumer-friendly section of CNBC, devoted to aspirational content about entrepreneurship, leadership, careers, and money. The Video Producer will be creating content for our new video course initiative. This role requires a seasoned Video Producer who is passionate about video production and Make It's unique voice — someone who is comfortable diving into topical courses and sourcing the perfect experts, with exceptional editorial skills, will be the ideal candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you’ll do: 

PLEASE NOTE: This is a short term position with an estimated duration of 6 months, which may be  otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed 

  • Produce original video courses focusing on personal finance, success, leadership, work and other topics on brand for CNBC Make It’s millennial and Gen Z audience 

  • Book high-quality guests and coordinate professional on-location shoot logistics 

  • Write and produce original videos under tight deadlines 

  • Write accompanying workbooks 

  • Collaborate with animators and video editors to achieve dynamic, visual video courses 

  • Build courses in learning management system 

  • Generate unique, original video pitches both independently and in partnership with reporters for new courses 

What we’ll offer:  

PEP Regular  

  • Works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period:  

  • Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months  

  • Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment  

  • Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment  

  • Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000

What you’ll bring:

  •  At least 4 years of experience producing digital video content 

  • General knowledge of current events and business news 

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere and mid-level knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and After Effects 

  • Sound editorial news judgement 

  • Basic technical knowledge of camera equipment and understanding of setting up equipment for field shoots 

  • Ability to approach roadblocks analytically and thoughtfully 

  • Ability to be detail-oriented and thorough in a fast-paced environment 

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, energetic environment and be a team player 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of online content management systems and multimedia storytelling 

  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills under deadline pressure 

Desired Characteristics: 

  •  Experience working in online courses or online education 

  • Communicates clearly with stakeholders and teams 

  • Strong analytical abilities 

  • Experience with social media video  

  •  Fosters collegial spirit, encourages collaboration 

  • Experience managing freelancers remotely (video editors, animators)  

  • Experience working with crew onset 

  • Admirable ability to land difficult interviews and characters, desirable industry rolodex
