Work Locations:With the exception of some select roles that have in-office requirements, A+E Networks operates on a flexible model that allows for remote, hybrid or full time in office work (in certain locales).

Job Description

Provide contract support as well as general administrative assistance to Attorneys (located in NY and California) in Legal & Business Affairs' ("L&BA") Global Revenue, Partnerships and Distribution ("GRPD") group (SVP, VP and Sr. Directors) in the areas of Global Content Licensing and Digital.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Contract Drafting and Document Management:

  • Drafting and revising basic response letters, form agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, as well as assist with contract drafting from time to time as needed.
  • Become familiar with subject matter of our content licensing and digital agreements.
  • Review and analyze various content licensing and digital related agreements and help to answer/research questions/issues (from other attorneys or the business), including creating deal summaries and various charts with key terms.
  • Assist with final review of execution copies for sign-off for execution and electronic signature (e.g., DocuSign) procedures, as well as contract management and contract organization.
  • Create, organize and maintain files and document repository database (e.g., eDocs).
  • Perform legal and factual research via the internet or other means for a variety of media related concerns.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide assistance to the group by managing day-to-day administrative responsibilities in a timely manner, including:
    • Managing attorney calendars and scheduling meetings/calls.
    • Assist with travel arrangements.
    • Preparing and submitting expense reports in Concur.
    • Preparing and coding invoices in A+E systems for legal billing (i.e., handling outside counsel payments in Serengeti Legal Tracker).
  • Handle other tasks as requested, including supporting other projects or back-up support for other colleagues within the GRPD team from time-to-time, as needed, as this role is part of a broad legal team of attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants.

YOUR STORY:

  • Must have one of the following: Bachelor's degree; Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies; Paralegal certificate; ABA-approved paralegal training; a law degree or advanced degree(s) a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years paralegal and/or legal administrative experience. Prior work at a medium-to-large sized law firm or an in-house legal department of a medium-to-large sized media company or corporation is preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys at once a plus.
  • Strong contract review, proofreading and interpretation skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions, as well as awareness of when to escalate issues.
  • Ability to take initiative, learn and apply new information, skills, and procedures.
  • Highly organized and ability to time manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment, with tight deadlines.
  • Candidate must be a team player who can interact with all levels of management, across departments and outside counsel.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and technology proficiency with various systems.
  • Prior experience utilizing Workshare Compare, DocuSign, Air Table, e-billing software (Legal Tracker/Serengeti), Concur, Adobe Acrobat Pro X, is a plus.
  • Notary Public license is recommended but not required.
  • Experience with digital or licensing agreements or at a media or technology company working on contracts a plus.

CompensationHourly Pay Range: $33.19 - $42.60Annual Incentive Target: 5%
