Dow Jones is seeking a Paid Media Manager to lead the management and optimization across campaigns for The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and/or MarketWatch. The manager will oversee in-house paid media operations dedicated to driving awareness of our brands, acquisition of new subscribers and engagement of current members. This role will report into the Associate Director of Paid Media and will work cross-functionally with teams across the membership marketing funnel (acquisition, engagement, retention, brand, and students).


  • Work with the Associate Director of Paid Media to oversee and drive the holistic strategic vision of in-house media campaigns across Google, Bing, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Snapchat.

  • Optimize large media budgets across platforms and markets to maximize acquisition volume, increase audience reach and retain current members.

  • Manage a team of 1-3 associates.

  • Work on a testing structure for platforms we spend the most time and budget on.

  • Support Associate Director in fine tuning and building off of in place strategies across each platform while considering new opportunities for media placements.

  • Build a relationship with our partners in Engagement and the Newsroom.


  • 4-6 years of experience working in a media-based role.

  • Must have managed a budget of at least $5m a year.

  • Must have experience managing a team and working with several cross-functional partners

  • In-depth knowledge of media buying on Google, Bing, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Snapchat

  • Passion for news and publishing

  • Partnerships/Business Development experience is a plus

NYC Pay Range: $50,000 - $180,000
