Position Summary

The MRI Technical Manager/Director is a position within the CUIMC Department of Radiology. In collaboration with the Medical Director, Practice Plan Director and Departmental leadership, the MRI Manager/Director will be responsible for ensuring delivery of consistent high-quality patient-centered care, and the coordination and supervision of staff and healthcare services throughout the Department.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for oversite of the clinical technologist staff, including on-boarding, training and supervising the technologists.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical service programs, policies and procedures throughout the clinic, as well as quality improvement initiatives.

  • Manage the technical staff training and competency programs; participate in development and implementation of standardized protocols and efficent workflows.

  • Provide coverage for Director of Imaging Services when he/she is unavailable.

  • Monitor and organize Department resources to maximize productivity and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Responsible for training current and new technical support staff on the use of systems/equipment and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for monitoring the timeliness of continuing education of technical staff and compliance with mandatory Medical Center education programs.

  • Communicate departmental changes to staff via staff meetings, huddles and email.

  • Responsible for overseeing and monitoring daily schedules for all sites, developing clinical workflows and coordinating technical staffing needs of the practice.

  • Responsible for analyzing productivity reports, identifying trends proposing and implementing anticipated corrective actions.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.

  • Works with the Medical Director and Practice Plan Director on future MRI installations and upgrades.

  • Ensures all departments within Imaging areas are in compliance with all applicable polices, licensure and regulatory agencies.

  • Works with the medical director to establish quality improvement initiatives annually.

  • Travel is required to lead training and educational activities for all sites.

  • Performs additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of related experience.

  • Current ARRT/MRI license. At least 4 years of management experience.
