Mergers & Acquisitions - Property & Casualty Broker

This role will have the flexibility to work both virtually and within our New York, NY Aon office location.

What the day will look like

  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance coverage with a focus on clients with P&C.

  • Develop productive business relationships with key insurance underwriters and develop or maintain comfort with carriers online platforms or access points

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Aon M&A Project Managers, Producers and Account Executives.

  • Review and assist in budgeting and placement of P&C insurance Portfolio Companies for Private Equity firms’ prospective portfolio companies, including but not limited to:

  • Reviewing current program for adequacy of coverage, gaps or opportunities for improvement.

  • Soliciting budgets under confidentiality in short time frame.

  • Utilizing benchmarking and forecasting tools to analyze coverage and cost needs.

  • Service a book of small commercial P&C Private Equity owned renewal accounts

  • Work toward deadlines and broking cycles that are often shorter than industry standards.

  • Develop and maintain a proficient understanding and utilization of Aon submission and quoting web base platforms.

  • Learn and understand all elements of client presentations and develop skill set in development of basic presentations / presentation sections including technical writing. Develop verbal presentation skills.

  • Develop and utilize effective negotiation skills

  • Responsible for all aspects of client service for assigned book of business including, billing, policy collection, review and transmittal in accordance with established departmental service standards

  • Drive utilization of all available technology throughout broking process and client service process

  • Understand the causes of E&O and avoid and adopt practices to reduce exposure

  • Adhere to all best practices

  • Replicate effective products/solutions and develop broking opportunities

  • Retain and grow assigned clients/prospects

  • Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior in all activities

    How this opportunity is different

    Private Equity is a focused new business vertical for Aon's Mid-Market clients. Manage an existing book of business of Private Equity Firms and prospective clients while educating and advising clients with a P&C (Property & Casualty) focus.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

    Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of Property and Casualty insurance experience

  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license

    Preferred Experience:

  • Small commercial P&C broking or underwriting experience a plus

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $80,000 - $105,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

    The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of New York, NY. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
