We are looking for a Customer & Market Insights Researcher who is passionate about delivering leading-edge experiences on Mobile and TV to join our product design team. The Customer & Market Insights Researcher independently designs and executes actionable research studies from concept generation through product release. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record conducting primary consumer research, analyzing data, generating user insights, translating insights into product design recommendations, and communicating findings to stakeholders. They will also excel at successfully communicating insights across complex organizations.

Researchers must work effectively with product strategists, product managers, designers, and hardware and software engineers in a highly collaborative environment. This position demands an individual that is organized, detail-oriented, results-driven, and have strong interpersonal skills. Polished visual and verbal presentation skills are a must.

Role and Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Independently lead primary research projects to inform the strategic direction and design of new service concepts and existing mobile services

  • Write quantitative and qualitative discussion guides (e.g., for surveys, online interviews) to answer strategic questions across NASB

  • Field primary consumer research, leveraging digital DIY research tools (identify target audience, program platforms)

  • Analyze primary quantitative data and qualitative data to identify key consumer behaviors and trends

  • Synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful, actionable insights and develop strategic recommendations based on research insights

  • Create reports based on research analysis and present to key project stakeholders

  • Conduct secondary desk research as needed to help the team understand competitive products, identify consumer trends, and follow industry news

  • Develop the processes and identify tools for disseminating key insights effectively across the organization

  • Respond to ad hoc data requests and provide guidance based on past or secondary research

Skills and Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, or a related field

  • 2-5 years of industry experience conducting user experience research

  • Experience designing and conducting research studies aligned with design and development cycles

  • Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative user research methodologies (e.g. competitive analysis, surveys, interviews, analytics, diary and ethnographic studies)

  • Demonstrated ability to visualize and present rich research data simply and clearly

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience presenting to internal and external audiences

  • Strong storytelling skills and ability to synthesize large amounts of data into the most salient points

  • Experience or passion for technology (particularly TV/Video, mobile entertainment, social applications, and/or other consumer electronics)

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence platforms

  • Previous experience managing external research agencies or vendors
